THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) PAYS FIELD VISIT TO 23 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General GRRP Jayawardena RWP RSP ndu, the Commander, Security Forces (East) made his official visit to the Headquarters 23 Infantry Division on 27 June 2022.

At arrival to the Headquarters, the Commander, Security Forces (East) was received by Brigadier SKA Kulatunge RWP RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division. The guard turn out was offered at the main entrance to the Security Forces Commander in conformity with military traditions.

After introducing the Staff Officers of Division Headquarters the visiting Commander planted a ‘Mango’ sapling in front of the Headquarter building.

The General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division conducted a comprehensive briefing on the Area of Responsibility including the role and tasks and operational readinessof 23 Infantry Division and under command Brigades and Battalions. Subsequently, the Commander, Security Forces (East) had a discussion on security and administration issues related to the Division.

Addressing the troops, the Commander, Security Force (East) emphasized to be determined to ensure the unity among the Officers and Other Ranks and insisted the need of protecting the image of the Army through the maintenance of highest standards of discipline at all levels. Further, highlighted the requirement of the optimum performance on vested responsibility of the Army to strengthen the national effort during this critical situation of the country. Moreover, the Commander, Security Forces (East) highlighted the importance of implementation of agriculture and cultivation within the Area of Responsibilityto overcome the difficulties in present context. The troop address was followed up by a tea with all rank.
