The troops of 22 Division extended their fullest support to conduct the annual Kovil Pooja at Sri Thirukkai Ambal Thevasthanam Hindu Temple, Orr´s Hill Trincomalee on Tuesday (19). Prior to the event, the troops conducted a Shrarmadana Campign to clear the surrounding of the Kovil premises together with devotees in the area.

22 Division extended its best assistance to the District Secretariat Trincomalee for the conduct of the provincial commemoration of the 71st Independence Day in Trincomalee.
The ceremony commenced with the Governor of the Eastern Province Dr. M L A M Hisbullah hoisting the National Flag. 30 students from five schools in Trincomalee sang the National Anthem. Then, a two minute silence was observed in memory of all the Patriots and War Heroes who scarified their lives for the noble cause of defending the freedom, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland.

Ragel, the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Eastern Univerity Batticaloa on 26 January 2019. The event was held at the Cooperative Society Building, Batticaloa hosted by Mr. Mamangarajah, the Chairman of Civil Society Batticaloa. The Chief Incumbent of Sri Subhadraramaya Kalmunai - Ven. Rammuthugala Sangharathana Thero, Kurukkal Sirimath Sri Niwas, Maulavi Nalimulai of Jummah Mosque Batticaloa and the Bishop of Batticaloa Rt Rev. Dr. Joseph Ponniah attended the welcoming ceremony.
