Commander Security Force (East) Major General Senarath Bandara launched the ‘Welcome to East’, Informative Journal cum Tour Guide compiled on sheer initiative of the Commander Security Force (East), by presenting few copies to the General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Major General Chinthaka Gamage, General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Major General Dhammika Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Channa Weerasooriya and Commander FMA (East) Brigadier Athula Ariyarathna on 04 Aug 2020.
This informative Journal is overflowing with proud evidences of the immaculate historical and cultural heritages, enchanting splendors of the nature, sun bronzed beaches, unspoiled destinations of the Eastern Province with full of charm and ambiance inclusive of the richness and the glamour of the great Polonnaruwa Kingdom. Despite the current COVID pandemic, the Eastern Province is once again drawing the world’s attention as a safe and peaceful place to visit with its tourism industry flourishing more than ever. Commander Security Force (East) took the initiative of compiling this booklet on testimony of the fact that the Eastern Province lacks reliable information on its attractions and splendors.
