AWARENESS LECTURE CONDUCTED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF SECURITY AND CO-EXISTENCE IN THE KUCHCHAWELI AREA

The General Officer Commanding of 22 infantry Division, Major General CD Weerasooriya RWP RSP had a awareness programme followed by a discussion with the religious leaders, community leaders and professionals of the Muslim community in Kuchchiweli area with the view to educate them on the importance of security and co-existence in the area.

The forum was organized by 221 Infantry Brigade on 21 July 2020 at Cultural Hall Kuchchaweli where the Commander of 221 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier WP Kariyawasam, Commanding Officer of 6 VIR Major DKD Withanage RSP, 48 attendees including Muslim Mawlavis, Chairmen and Secretaries of Islamic Mosques and the Chairman of Fishing Society - Kuchchaweli DS Division attended the session.
