  • 22 DIVISION ORGANIZES A FLAG MARCH TO MARK THE 69TH ARMY ANNIVERSARY

    On account of the forthcoming 69th Army Anniversary and the Army Day (Oct 10), a flag march organized by 22 Division got underway in Trincomalee on Thursday (04). In the vision of Commander of the Army and with the guidance of the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara supervised the event which was carried out parallel to the series of proceedings organized by the Army island wide.

  • MASS GATHERING AT AMPARA FOR FLAG-BLESSING

    To coincide with the forthcoming 69th Army Anniversary and the Army Day, 24 Division organized a solemn ceremony at St. Ignatius Church Ampara on Wednesday (03) in order to bless the flags of 24 Division, 241 Brigade, 242 Brigade and the under command Battalions namely 23 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 6 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, 8 Sri Lanka National Guard, 11 Sri Lanka National Guard and 16 Sri Lanka National Guard.

  • DONATION TO THILAKAVATHIYAR CHILDREN'S ORPHANAGE

    Under the auspices of General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Brigadier Chula Abeynayake and his family members, a donation programme was conducted for the children of Thilakavathiyar Children's Orphanage in Vakarai, on 18 Sep 2018. A stock of school accessories and clothing items were distributed among the children.

  • TROOPS OF 224 BRIGADE CONSTRUCT TWO NEW HOUSES FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

    Two new houses constructed by the troops of 224 Brigade with the blessings of the General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara were handed over to two needy families in Thambalagamuwa” on 13 September 2018. This project was launched under the supervision of Commander” 224 Brigade” Colonel EAP Ediriweera.

  • REFURBISHMENT OF THE ST. JOESPH VAZ THEOLOGICAL CENTRE

    In response to a request made by the Rt. Rev Bishop of Batticaloa, troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment serving in the 231 Brigade Batticaloa with the assistance of 4 GW, 11 (V) SLSR and 3 ESR troops completed the refurbishment of the St. Joesph Vaz Theological Institute at the Bishop House premises in Batticaloa. It was opened on 08 September 2018.

  • COMMANDER SF (EAST) UNVEILS ARMY-BUILT "PIRIVEN" ACCOMMODATION COMPLEX ALONG WITH THE OFFICE COMPLEX FOR SANGHA AT MANGALARAMAYA BATTICALOA

    With the view to foster inter-ethnic and inter-religious coexistence and to generate a spirit of tolerance and understanding amongst different religious groups in the Eastern Province, Security Force Headquarters (East) has been facilitating for series of projects with the guidance of Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala. Accordingly, the contribution of troops for the refurbishment of Mamanga Pillayar Kovil Batticaloa, renovation of the Theological Institute of Bishop's House Batticaloa and various religious places in the area could be highlighted.

  • THE TROOPS OF 22 DIVISION SUPPORT A BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME

    As the Buddhists celebrate the “Esala Full-Moon Poya Day” with great reverence, with religious festivals and processions throughout the country, villagers in Welikanda and surrounding villages at Polonnaruwa District joined with “Sri MahindaramaViharasthanaya,” (Buddhist Temple) to organize a programme giving prominence for yet another ritual of the Sri Lankan Buddhists.
