The Seva Vanitha Branch Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), further expanding its welfare roles towards students in families of fallen War Heroes and disabled War Heroes, awards Eight scholarships worth of Rs 28000.00 per month to recipients and provides medical aid to a student of serving Army personal. The programme was held with presence of the president of Seva Vanitha Branch, SLE Mrs Sagara Gunawardane on 20 September 2020 at the Convention Centre in Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Regimental Centre, Panagoda.

Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K N D Karunapala RSP has visited 12 Field Engineer Regiment on 26 August 2020. He was welcomed and greeted by the Commanding Officer 12 Field Engineer Regiment Major G J P De Silva SLE. The key aspiration of this visit was to address the troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment regarding their new duties with the re – deployment at the Pitigala under 612 Infantry Brigade on 18 August 2020. The event culminated with planting of mango sapling in the camp premises and all rank tea party.

The Commander 61 Division Major General K H P P Fernando RWP RSP USP ndu made his maiden visit 12 Field Engineer Regiment on 27 August 2020. The visiting Division Commander was accorded with formal drive pass by the troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment and welcomed by the Commanding Officer on his arrival. Later visiting Commander ushered to the hall pack with enthusiastic troops to hear the Commanders’ address to them. After a few minutes of his address he visited the camp premises and planted a mango sapling to mark his visit to the 12 Field Engineer Regiment. As last segment of the day’s itinerary attended the all rank tea and freely mingle with soldiers and share their thoughts with the Division Commander.

10 Field Engineer Regiment Troops, under the guidance of Commanding Officers Major WKST Kanangara psc SLE, continued their community projects by conducting a "Sharamadana Campaign" at the State Home for Elders in Kaithady on 31 August 2020. Cleaning the surrounding of state home and buildings as per the requirement of the Administrative staff was carried out by the Troops to uplift the living standard of the elders occupied in the state home. The administrative staff of the State Home for Elders were highly appreciated the effort taken by the 10 Field Engineer Regiment.

Conforming to the new Unit deployment plan circulated by the Army Headquarters 12 Field Engineer Regiment have been exempted from the classic duties and relocated at Pitigala area under 612 Infantry Brigade specifically focusing on the Infantry duties. Immediately after the resumption of Operations in 612 InfBde AOR, the12 Field Engineer Regiment have joined the troops of 2 x 30 battled and fight blazing flames of wildfires at the Piniyawala forest reserve in Walallawita Divisional Secretariat on 23rd August 2020.

12 Field Engineer Regiment has redeployed in Pitigala, Elpitiya area under 612 Infantry Brigade from 16 to 18 August 2020 from Army Cantonment Panagoda as a new deployment plan of Army Headquarters to undertake infantry duties and relived 20 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment for their new redeployment in Katharagama area. 12 Field Engineer Regiment was located Army Cantonment Panagoda and carried out Field and Plant engineering duties in SFHQ (West) area before redeployed in Pitigala.

The Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch organized a cookery demonstration for the benefit of its members on the preparation of cooking delicious short meals. The programme was held at the Corps Headquarters, Panagoda on 30 August 2020 and Mrs Sagara Gunawardena the President Corps of Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch graced the occasion as the chief guest.
