  • WASHED AWAY PATHTHINIGODA BRIDGE AT PITIGALA DUE TO FLOOD WAS RAPIDLY RENOVATED BY SAPPER TROOPS OF 12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

    Due to the heavy rain on last week, daily routine of the people severely affected in Kalutara district. Due the rain, water level of Kalu river, Bentara river were increased and low lands were submerged. Hence, movements have been restricted and some of the bridges were washed away due to the water current.

  • CONDUCTING OF LAND MINE WARFARE AND HUMANITARIAN DE – MINING MODULES TO SRI LANKA NAVY

    As per the request made by Sri Lanka Navy, Field Engineer Brigade has commenced the Land mine warfare and Humanitarian de – mining basic module to 5 x Navy Officers and 20 x Other Ranks from 10 May 2021 to 21 May 2021. According to the programme, following areas to be discussed.

  • 12 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT TROOPS BUILD NEW INTERMEDIATE CARE CENTRE (ICC) AT KALUTARA DISTRICT

    Considering the urgent requirement and to increase the treatment capacities of the country , troops of 12 Field Engineer Regiment under 612 Infantry Brigade tasked to convert the Jamiah Naleemiah Islamic Institute to an Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) to provide facilities for the treatment of Covid -19 patients. The buildings of the institute were taken over by Sri Lanka Army on 3rd May 2021. Currently, Jamiah Naleemiah ICC is holding the bed capacity of 430 and it operationally started on 13 May 2021 while admitting 13 x Covid patients from Kalutara District. Mainly all the administration and security are coordinated by the 12 Field Engineer Regiment.

  • SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS DONATES ESSENTIALS FOR NEEDY ELDERS

    The world mother's day honouring motherhood and maternal bonds in the society. The Seva Vanitha Branch of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SVB - SLE) organized a donation programme for nearly 80 disabled and autism elders at the Sujatha Elder's Home, Kalutara on 9 May 2021, to celebrate the 2021 world mother's day.

  • ASSUMING DUTIES OF COMMANDER GENERAL ENGINEERING BRIGADE

    Brig P P A Perera psc Hdmc assumed duties as the Commander General Engineering Brigade on 7 May 2021 at Headquarters, General Engineering Brigade, KACHCHIGALA, EMBILIPITIYA. Brig P P A Perera psc Hdmc was the second Brigade Commander for General Engineering Brigade after the inauguration of newly established Brigade Headquarters.

  • CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY FOR THE WORKSHOP ON PROJECT MANAGEMENT

    The Workshop on the Introduction to Project Management, which was inaugurated under the auspices of Maj Gen A N Amarasekara USP ndu, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army on 19 April 2021, concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants on 23 April 2021.

  • INAUGURATION CEREMONY FOR THE WORKSHOP ON PROJECT MANAGEMENT

    On the guidance and advice of Maj Gen A N Amarasekara USP ndu, Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers and the Chief Field Engineer of the Sri Lanka Army, this workshop was organised. The aim of this workshop is to enhance the knowledge and professionalism of Sapper Officers on Construction Project Management. As the Corps of Engineers is entrusted with projects and tasks not only within the Army but also projects on Nation Building and other National projects in support of local authorities, this workshop provides the required theoretical knowledge to officers involved in Military and Non-Military projects.
