The GOC 61 Infantry Division Maj Gen DBSN Bothota RWP RSP USP psc visited 12 Field Engineer Regiment on 02 February 2022. The visiting GOC initially inspected the proposed land for both 612 Infantry Brigade and 12 Field Engineer Regiment. Later he visited the Headquarters 12 Field Engineer Regiment. The Commander 613 Infantry Brigade who currently overlooking duties as the Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Brig KAU Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc IG, Col GS 61 Infantry Division Col KASK Siriwardena RWP RSP USP, Senior Staff Officer 612 Infantry Brigade Lt Col GHG Udaya Santha RSP and Officers of 12 Field Engineer Regiment accompanied with the General Officer Commanding on the field visit.
After inspection visit to the proposed land at Dodamgoda the GOC visited 12 Field Engineer Regiment Headquarters at Pitigala. The visit commenced with unit briefing by the Commanding Officer and followed the camp visit. Subsequent to the camp visit the GOC addressed troops and commended their infantry tasks perform in the AOR as a Sapper Battalion. Further, he highlighted the importance of maintaining combat efficiency and advised to be trained for any eventualities ensuring readiness of troops. The visit programme was conducted with compliance to the COVID 19 health guidelines.
