Responding to a request made by the Divisional Secretariat office Attanagalla, a contingent of Army personnel belongs to 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery of 141 Infantry Brigade lent their assistance on the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP, by providing manpower to remove a blockage of draining water that caused by long term entrapment of tree branches, leaves and soil in Mangalathiriya area above the dam of Attanagalu Oya during 06 and 07 February 2023.

On account of the 75th National Independence Anniversary Day, His Excellency, the President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu has promoted a total of 208 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army (Regular and Volunteer Force) and a record 9919 Other Ranks of the Army (Regular Force and Volunteer Force and Extra Regimental Employment Basis) to their respective next rank.
