2 Officers and 35 Other Ranks of the 16 Gajaba Regiment and 1 Sri Lanka National Guard of the 143 Brigade under the 14 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) took immediate steps to avoid a split in the Kolamune Oya bund in Bingiriya Divisional Secretariat area after stacking sandbags around affected areas spending more than 10 hours on Sunday (7).

Troops of the 12 Gajaba Regiment and 4 Sri Lanka Light Infantry of the 14 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) during small hours on Sunday (7) rushed to the Parliament complex area and took necessary steps to prevent the entrance areas from getting inundated with rainy water which has risen to flood levels.

Troops of 16 Sri Lanka Gajaba Regiment (16 GR) of the 143 Brigade under the SF HQ (West) on 01 October 2018 gave their timely assistance to clear Anamaduwa - Chillaw main road from Bangadeniya junction which remained obstructed with the fallen trees, branches, fronds and other obstacles.
