  • TROOPS EVACUATE O/L CANDIDATES AND LET EXAM WORK TO RESUME WITHIN MINUTES

    156 flood-affected GCE O/L candidates were swiftly evacuated from ground floor classrooms at St Andrew's Central College in the heart of Puttalam by 143 Brigade troops amalgamating 58 Division troops in Puttalam yeasterday morning (24) and facilitated them continuing their examination work as scheduled.

    Strengthening the government’s effort in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, with the directions of General LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, another vaccination drive was commenced under the close supervision of the Commander Security Forces (West), administering both first and second doses of Synopharm and all four doses of Pfizer vaccines, respectively. The programme was commenced at the Viharamahadevi Park Colombo from 18th May 2022 onwards.

    Major General W R M M Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu on 05 May 2022 assumed office as the 16th General Officer commanding of the 61 Infantry Division with a simple ceremony.

  • WEST TROOPS CONTRIBUTED THEIR ASSISTANCE TO ANOTHER CHARITY WORK

    As per the directions and instruction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, with the close supervision of 141 Infantry Brigade, a dilapidated COVID - 19 Patients ward belongs to the Divulapitiya District Hospital in the Divulapitiya Divisional secretariat was Renovated as a Normal ward and handed over to the hospital staff on 20 April 2022.

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) TROOPS ASSISTED TO DOUSE ANOTHER SPREADING OF FIRE

    On Thursday (21) morning, responding to the need of immediate action, troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, under 141 Infantry Brigade of the Security Forces (West) rushed to mitigate the fire inside the abandoned quarry which was used as a garbage pit in the General area Mabina, Wathurapatha.

  • SF HQ (WEST) ORGANIZE WORKSHOP TO ACQUIRE MORE KNOWLEDGE

    With the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, commenced a one-day workshop covering some salient aspects regarding the role and task of the Directorate of ABF (Army Benevolent Fund) on 05 April 2022 at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps – Army cantonment Panagoda.

  • 141 INFANTRY BRIGADE CONDUCTED A DISASTER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

    With the coordination of the Disaster Management Unit-Gampaha, 141 Infantry Brigade organized and conducted a two-day training programme on 25 and 29 March 2022. on Disaster Management with the view of developing theoretical and practical knowledge required for Army personnel to react during future disasters in the 141 Infantry Brigade AOR.
