In response to a request made by Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya, about 200 Army personnel from 144 Infantry Brigade, including 10 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 1 Sri Lanka Army Military Police, 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 18 Sri Lanka National Guard and 1 Battalion Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, provided their comprehensive assistance to organize an all-night sermon on 21 January 2023, followed by ‘Heel Dana’ for thousands of monks and also ‘Dansala’ for civilians at temple premises.
This religious event has been arranged and sponsored by Kangara Holdings Pvt. Ltd. The Founder and Chief Patron of Ama Dora Viwara Viya Sadhaham Foundation, under Seelasamahitha Aranya Senasanaya Seelagama - Belihuloya - Balangoda, Venerable Balangoda Radha Thero, conducted the all-night sermon.
Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP and Brigade Commander of 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K M V Kodituwakku closely supervised the Army assistance.
