With the increasing trend in the number of dengue cases have been reported island-wide, Anti Dengue Programme has been launched in parallel to the ongoing island-wide National Dengue Epidemic Prevention Campaigns by the troops serving under the 14 and 61 Infantry Divisions of the Security Forces (West) from 12 to 14 October 2022 covering seven Districts, including 20 MOH areas in Security Forces (West) AOR.

In line with the 73 anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, 611, 612 and 613 Infantry Brigades under 61 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) organized several Community programmes in their respective AORs with the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP in the month of October 2022.

On 07 October 2022, in parallel to World Children’s Day – 2022, a lot of school accessories were distributed among 65 children from low-income families who were suffering due to severe economic difficulties at Thevanuwara Primary School in Puttalam district under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division and the initiative of 143 Infantry Brigade along with troops of 16 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment.

Hon the President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, attaching significance to the 73rd Army Anniversary Day has promoted a total of 372 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army (Regular and Volunteer Force) and a record 7127 Other Ranks of the Army (Regular Force and Volunteer Force and Extra Regimental Employment Basis) to their respective next rank.

As per the directions and instructions of the Commander Security Forces West, Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP , with the guidance given by the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, Brigadier J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and under close supervision of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K M V Kodithuwakku, Army personnel of 144 infantry Brigade organized another timely important workshop and the demonstrations regarding Disaster management and Roit Control at 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry camp premises and Kelani river bank on 02 October 2022.
