The sixth agricultural knowledge improvement and leadership development workshop, themed "Haritha Niyamuwo," was organized by Wayamba Training Institute in collaboration with the Army personnel of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard at Wayamba Training Institute premises, Wariyapola, on 22 April 2023, with the participation of 70 students from Sri Nissanka Vidyalaya, Vidyaloka Vidyalaya and Uhumeeya College located in Kurunegala District.
During this workshop, Army personnel assisted by providing physical training instructors as well as conducting leadership sessions that included theoretical and practical group activities for the students. At the conclusion of this awareness workshop, the students acquired more knowledge regarding leadership qualities and world food safety programmes, etc.
Meanwhile, the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard closely supervised the Army's assistance under the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces (West).
In the recent past, the same workshop was conducted on 1 April 2023, with the participation of 70 students studying at both schools, Dambadeniya Maha Vidyalaya and Jayanthi Navodya Central College – Nikaveratiya.
