An Army soldier, named Private Kumara R.G.D, who is currently working at the Garrison Engineer's station at 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa, caught a thief at the railway station in Boossa at around afternoon hours while he was coming to the station to attend a personnel matter on 18 April 2023.
In this incident, the thief was running away after snatching a necklace from a woman who was boarding a train that was about to start a journey. Accordingly, after pursuing the thief, the said Army soldier was able to catch him by implementing necessary actions and handing him over to the Rathgama police station immediately for further investigation.
