On the direction of the Commander Security Force(West) Major General D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu and the guidance of General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division Major General A K G K U Gnanarathne ndu psc and the close supervision of the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Col K M V Kodituwakku, the foundation stone was laid at the auspicious time to the proposed house to be construed for a low income family of Mr Welgamage Sudarshana Prabath who is having four children in Mulleriyawa North GN Division on 21 October 2021.The proposed house will be constructed by12 GR and 2(V) SLLI troops.

Due to the spread of COVID – 19 pandemic in the country and the rapid spread of the virus among the infectees, as an emergency measure, on the directions of the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, with the instruction of the commander SF (West) Major General D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, on Saturday(2) distributed six Oxygen Concentrators among the Kurunegala General Hospital, Sri Jaywardanapura General Hospital, and De Soysa Maternity Hospital Colombo. Two Oxygen Concentrators are handed over to Kuliyapitiya General Hospital for the betterment of the serious patients, affected by COVID-19 on Sunday (3).

As per the directions promulgated by the Comd SF (West) Maj Gen D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division along with the 144 Infantry Brigade and 2nd (V) Battalion SLLI, launched a programme to distribute oximeters, that had been gifted to the Commander of the Army in order to distribute among the needy families in Athurugiriya, Mulleriyawa and Kaduwela areas on 01 October 2021.

Security Forces Headquarters (West) conducted flag hoisting ceremony in this morning (1). The Comd SF (West) Maj Gen D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, together with the Brigadier administration and quartering of SF (West) Brig G D R U K Galhenage hoisted the National flag and the Army flag respectively. Few senior officers, officers and other rankers participated for the ceremony adhering to the health guidelines in order to prevent COVID - 19.

On the conceptual direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu , a special boat training course was designed in order to enhance the soldiers’ ability on handling Outboard Mortar (OBM) and its techniques. Similarly, with the participation of nineteen (1x18) troops from 2(V) SLLI, a short term course was conducted by the instructors of Special Boat Squadron - Special Force at Kalaniya river bank within the 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry AOR from 20 May to 27 May 2021.
