On 23 February 2023, Army personnel of 3 (V) Battalion Gemunu Watch under 613 Infantry Brigade of 61 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) carried out a beach cleaning project along the popular Weligama beach area.
The project has been conducted under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) and the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division. Meanwhile, addressing to the request made by 3 (V) Battalion Gemunu Watch, officials of the Municipal Council – Weligama, several foreigners, local residents, along with students and parents of Weligama Siddhartha College, also contributed to this beach cleaning project.
At the same time, the Commander, 613 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 3 (V) Battalion Gemunu Watch closely supervised the day’s project.
