  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) CONTINUES TO SUPPORT DISASTER RELIEF

    Kandalaya Maha Vidyalaya of the Sinnapaduwa Grama Sewa Divison Which is located that Mundalama Divisional Secretariat at of Puttalam District has been overflowed due to torrential rains and the troops of 16 Gajaba Regiment has recovered the area as per the guidance of Commander Security Forcers (West) Maj Gen D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu and close supervision of the 143 Infantry Brigade Commander, along with the Commanding officer of 16 Gajaba Regiment, on 22 November 2021.

  • A TWO DAY WORKSHOP ON MILITARY IN INTERNAL OPERATIONS

    As per the concept of the Commander of the Army with the coordination of the Director HR and IHL and the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, commenced a two day workshop on military in internal security operations (MISO) was held on 16 and 17 November 2021 at regimental headquarters of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Army cantonment Panagoda.

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) INITIATES AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE PREPARATORY COURSE

    As per the directions given by the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, an Intensive English Language Preparatory Course was commenced on 16 November 2021 in order to secure a pass from the English Language for the other ranks who got through all the subjects except English Language at the G.C.E Ordinary Level examination.

    On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu and close supervision of the 143 Infantry Brigade Commander and troops of 16 Gajaba Regiment had reconstructed Renagal Tank of the Welasiya Gramaseva Division which is located at the Mundalama Divisional Secretariat of Puttalam District on Sunday (14) within the short period time.

  • BROKEN BUND OF THE PERIYAKULAM TANK RECONSTRUCTED BY ARMY TROOPS

    Periyakulam Tank of the Pubudugama Gramaseva Division which is located at the Mundalama Divisional Secretariat of Puttalam District was reconstructed by the Army troops with the guidance of Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu and close supervision of the 143 Infantry Brigade Commander, along with the Commanding Officer of 16 Gajaba Regiment, on Friday (12).

  • FACILITATED AND ENHANCED THE TRANSPORTATION IN AKARAVITA AREA BY ARMY TROOPS

    Troops of 6th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery under command to 141 Infantry Brigade with the assistance of DMC Gampaha facilitated in enhancing the transportation in general are Akaravita by reconstructing a bypass road used to cross a streamline connected to Attanagalu Oya which was heavily damaged due to the aftermath of heavy rainfall. Under the guidance of the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade, troops of 6 SLA have constructed a solid road including a culvert withing a short period of time to enhance the transportation facilities of the villagers.

  • SECURITY FORCES (WEST) TROOPS HEEDFULL OF THE LANDSLIDE AT PAHALA KADUGANNAWA

    Soldiers of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment , together with National Building Research Organization (NBRO) and Disaster Management Centre (DMC) officials on Thursday (11) morning undertook a climbing rope expedition into the Pahala Kadugannawa rock precipice in order to closely inspect geological erosions with incessant rains, down below the mountain after the area was threatened with earth-slips.

    Flooding and landslides fueled by the torrential rains over the last two weeks have adversely affected over the island. Simultaneously, Security Forces (West) troops alert to the developing adverse weather patterns across the west area on the directions of Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu ,the Commander Security Forces (West) have already commenced their evacuation , rescue and relief operations in worst - hit areas including Kurunegala, Galle, Kegalle and Kaluthara districts as per the directions of respective General Officer Commanders of 14 and 61 infantry divisions.
