In response to the request made by the Ven. Kapugama Dammavansha Thero, a contingent of Army personnel belonging to the 10 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 144 Infantry Infantry Brigade of 14 Infantry Division, under the Security Forces (West), assisted in conducting a ‘Shramadana’ campaign by providing manpower in order to colour wash the accommodation buildings of monks, clean the surrounding including Bodhiya of the Abinawarama temple at Akuregoda on 02 April 2023.

Upon the request made by Thurstan College, Colombo, Army personnel belonging to the 14 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under 142 Infantry Brigade of 14 Infantry Division recently extended their assistance by providing referees for the annual Inter-House Sports Meet to judge the sports events and final parade of Thurstan College, Colombo on 20, 21, 23 and 30 March 2023.

On 27 March , 2023, with the approval of Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, a contingent of Army personnel, including officers of the 613 Infantry Brigade, 3 (v) Battalion Gemunu Watch, and 14 (v) Battalion Gamunu Watch, launched a beach clearing project as a community programme in a 3 Km coastal belt area from Matara Delikanda to the Nilwala river estuary, which remained highly polluted due to heaps of discarded wrappers and polythene waste.

Army personnel of 61 Infantry Division Headquarters organized another noble project for the betterment of two personnel who are serving at the Divisional Headquarters by providing a wheelchair for a differently abled child of a civilian lady and donating a stock of school accessories, approximately worth of Rs 90,000.00 to a soldier who has five children on 22 March 2023 respectively.
