10 Sri Lanka National Guard under 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Force (West) launched a Blood Donation Campaign, as per the directions promulgated by the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K M V Kodituwakku with the close supervision of Commanding Officer of 10 Sri Lanka National Guard Major G S S Galagedara in order to donate blood for the Blood Transfusion Centre, Narahenpita.

Troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) assisted in clearing an uprooted tree which has been fallen on to Siriwardhana Road near to Ranawiru Sewana, Ragama due to heavy rain and strong wind that intermittently lashed the area disrupting the transportation for hours.

The Troops of Security Forces (West) joined hands with the Public Health Inspectors (PHI) and government officials to conduct a six-day Dengue prevention programme covering Galle and Matara districts from 18 to 24 May 2022. 156 flood-affected GCE O/L candidates were swiftly evacuated from ground floor classrooms at St Andrew's Central College in the heart of Puttalam by 143 Brigade troops amalgamating 58 Division troops in Puttalam yeasterday morning (24) and facilitated them continuing their examination work as scheduled.

Strengthening the government’s effort in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, with the directions of General LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, another vaccination drive was commenced under the close supervision of the Commander Security Forces (West), administering both first and second doses of Synopharm and all four doses of Pfizer vaccines, respectively. The programme was commenced at the Viharamahadevi Park Colombo from 18th May 2022 onwards.
