144 INFANTRY BRIGADE TROOPS LISTEN TO AN INVALUABLE LECTURE

The 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) took a proactive approach to enhance the knowledge and well-being of its troops by organizing a lecture on August 10, 2023. The lecture, which was held at the 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry lecture hall, Kelanimulla, was conducted by Dr. J.M. Nilam, the chief commissioner of St. John's Ambulance – Kandy.

The lecture focused on various aspects of maintaining a healthy mind and understanding the impact of emotions on our lives. Dr. Nilam shed light on the importance of managing emotions in a rational manner and emphasized the significance of living with a balanced mindset, especially in today's competitive society.

Furthermore, the lecture delved into family concepts and the value of married life. Dr Nilam provided valuable insights on fostering healthy relationship within the family unit and highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong bond with one's spouse.

By offering this lecture, the 144 Infantry Brigade aimed to equip its troops with the necessary knowledge and tools to lead a fulfilling and well-rounded life. The topics covered during the lecture were carefully chosen to address key aspects of mental and emotional well-being, as well as the significance of healthy family relationships.

The lecture was attended by around 150 Army personnel including the Brigade Commander 144 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers and Mr. Ruwan Sri Balasuriya, District Commissioner of St. John’s Ambulance – Gampaha.
