One officer and 25 Other Ranks from 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) dedicated in dousing a forest fire that broke out in the Danawkanda, Keragala in general area Dompe, on 14 August 2023. Their quick response and effective containment strategy successfully prevented the fire from spreading further and causing more damage.
As per the directions of the Commander Security Forces (West) under the close supervision of the commanding officer of 8 Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry, the Army personnel worked tirelessly to bring the raging flames under control. With their combined expertise and experience, they skillfully tackled the challenging task at hand.
