143 INFANTRY BRIGADE LAUNCHES ANOTHER CIMIC INITIATIVE DISTRIBUTING AIR BEDS

Reflecting the coordination between military and government authorities an initiative taken by 143 Infantry Brigade to address the shortage of air beds at the base hospital Puttalam. The project to fulfil this shortage through generous donors reflects the commitment of the military and the community to support healthcare facilities during times of need.

Under the guidance and supervision of Brigadier T.M.F. Kitchilan RWP RSP, the Commander of 143 Infantry Brigade along with the assistance of 16th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, 5 air mattresses were distributed to the base hospital Puttalam on 24 August 2023.

This kind of collaboration between the military and civilian institutions can significantly contribute to the well-being and preparedness of healthcare facilities, especially during emergencies and shortages. Such efforts demonstrate the commitment to the community and highlight the importance of collective action in times of crisis.

Mr. Mohommad Rizvi, Mr. Mohommad Naushad, Mrs. Ruwani Farm, Mr. Nuwan Rathnayake, and Mr. Sanjeewa Samarasinghe were the generous donors who contributed to this project and have shown their great generosity and compassion towards this noble task.

The involvement of Brigadier T.M.F. Kitchilan, the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade, along with the officers and other ranks of 143 Infantry Brigade and 16th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, underscores the collective effort put into this endeavor. Thereby, the mattresses were handed over to the Director of the Puttalam base hospital, Dr. Sumith Attanayake, which ensures that these essential resources are directed to where they are needed most in the healthcare facility. This collaborative effort between the military and civilian donors showcases the unity and goodwill within the community to support vital healthcare services.
