English Language Course Ends Successfully

2nd Basic English Language Course in 2022 to improve English Language Skills of Soldiers serving in the Jaffna Peninsula was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna from 08th March 2022 to 07th April 2022. Thirty Two soldiers from various regiments benefitted from this course, which covered different aspects of the language and its application. The 1st in order of merit was secured by Corporal Munasinghe JPPD, while Private Lakmal MGVS and Private Ananda RMLP secured the 2nd and 3rd places of the Course respectively.

Jaffna Commander Addressed Troops to Brief the Ongoing Situation in the Country

Commander of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna Maj Gen Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, on the instructions of the CDS and Commander of the Army Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, addressed troops of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Forward Maintenance area (North) 51 Infantry Division, 52 Infantry Division and affiliated battalions of SFHQ in order to brief them about the prevailing situation in the country and the role of the Army.

Security Forces Head Quarters Jaffna Organize a Blood Donation Programme

Jaffna troops voluntarily made another priceless contribution of donating blood pints to the Blood Bank on Thursday (31) in consultation with medical authorities at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital, will be put to good use, every last drop. Nearly 263 soldiers including senior officers, officer and other ranks serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna willingly joined with this humanitarian need of the Jaffna Blood Bank.

Security Forces - Jaffna Conduct of Workshop on Chess for School Children

Chess Workshop had been initiated among school children under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa in collaboration with Sri Lanka Army Chess Committee with the assistance of Major General Swarna Bothota, Chairman, Army Chess Committee. The Workshop was conducted under the close supervision of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe at CIMIC Park - 51 Infantry Division, Kopay on 12 & 13 March 2022.

Security Forces - Jaffna Donating of Bicycles Among Needy School Children

The 513 Infantry Brigade initiated another humanitarian intervention by donating 10 bicycles among needy school children from economically deprived families in Siththankeny area on 12 March 2022 in supported by a donor as per the CIMIC plan of 51 Infantry Division. The event was organized with the blessing of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe.
