A military funeral that took place on 04 March 2022 at Achchuweli Cemetery, saluted to one of the most dedicated Tamil soldier who joined the 2nd Battalion of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers from Jaffna peninsula. S/M101392 Cfn Vivek N was residing at Muthumari Amman Kovilladi, Achchuweli passed away last Thursday 3rd March 2022, due to sickness while on service having served the Army for more than 8 years.

The 51 Infantry Division initiated another humanitarian intervention by giving 250 pairs of shoes to needy school children in Jaffna, Kopay, Thelippalai, Nallur, Chankani, Sanndilipai and Kaytsareas. This was in supported by Ansell Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. The event was organized by the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe in line with the vision of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army with the blessing of Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa. Commander 512 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Thanuja Godewatte and Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Rizvi Razick also participated.

The 4th Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted series of event on 26th February 2022 with the participating of GOC 52 Infantry Division, Major General GGAS Wickramasena RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc as the chief guest. Opening of the newly constructed Civil Staff accommodation building was the first event of the day. Next event was distribution of needy items for twenty selected pregnant mothers of the Chawakachcheri area.

A One - month Basic English Language course to improve English Language Skills of Soldiers serving in the Jaffna Peninsula was conducted by Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna from 18th January 2022 to 18th February 2022. Thirty Five Soldiers from various regiments benefitted from this course, which covered different aspects of the language and its application.

Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc MA (IR) - General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division met with the Government Agent Mr. K Mahesan at Government Agent Office - Jaffna on 09 February 2022. He discussed regarding Green Agriculture and Vaccination Programme under the guidance and instructions of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu - Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

The newly- promoted General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division Major General Samantha Wickramasena RWP RSP USP psc was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout presented by troops 4 Battalions of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, and He also left memories by planting a sapling to mark the event, followed by a group photograph.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of the proposed house to be constructed for the low income family of Mrs Sulakkana Wijekanth (widow) in Murga Moorthi Road, Chankanai took placed on 08 February 2022 under the guidance of Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa. General Officer Commanding - 51 Division, Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest to lay the foundation stone.

Distribution of bicycles to selected two school children in the area was held on 7 February 2022 at the Divisional Headquarters. The bicycles were donated by Mr. Subramaniyam Rajigaran an expatriate donor and distributed by the General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division Major General Samantha Wickramasena RWP RSP USP along with the Staff Officers of Divisional Headquarters.

The reliefs indulgence to 50 pregnant mothers and 50 school Children in Jaffna having bestowed essential dry ration packs and school items to perk up their living conditions and enrich their learning, conceptualized by Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu to strengthen the civil military co-operation activities, organized by Security Forces (Jaffna) was taken place at Tissa Raja Maha Viharaya premises in Kankasanthurei on 06 February 2022. The generous sponsorship for the event was extended by troops of 51, 52 and 55 divisions, Forward Maintenances Area (North) and Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna).

Inline with the National Dengue prevention programme, the troops of 14th Gajaba Regiment conducted 4 Days of cleaning and awareness Campaign covering Jaffna town area from 30 January 2022 to 03 February 2022 with the participation of police and staff of medical Health care centre Jaffna. This programme was organized on the instruction of Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc with close supervision of commander 512 infantry brigade Col Thanuja Godewatta RWP RSP.
