Jaffna Commander Addressed Troops to Brief the Ongoing Situation in the Country

Commander of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna Maj Gen Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, on the instructions of the CDS and Commander of the Army Gen Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, addressed troops of Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna, Forward Maintenance area (North) 51 Infantry Division, 52 Infantry Division and affiliated battalions of SFHQ in order to brief them about the prevailing situation in the country and the role of the Army.

In his address he stressed the importance of maintaining the composure of a true soldier whilst remaining true to the discipline and traditions of the Army in order to ensure the security of the general public in the country. He reminded everyone of the oath of loyalty that all soldiers take when they join the Army. Finally he advised everyone to remain immune to the instigations forced by social media and to maintain the composure and image of our victorious Army.

During two days of travel on 01st and 02nd April 2022 around the peninsula, he has so far spoken to 130 officers and 1518 men deployed in the peninsula. He will be visiting 55 Infantry Division in the coming days to address troops there.

Divisional Commanders of 51 and 52 Infantry Divisions and BGS SFHQ Jaffna took part in these visits to respective locations.
