Chief of Defence Staff Paid a Visit to Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna)

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, visited the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on 14 October 2022 and was received by Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu, the Security Forces Commander Jaffna on arrival at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Palaly.

52 Infantry Division Distribute Dry Ration Packs Among Needy Families in Line With The 73rd Army Day Celebration

To maintain goodwill among Army and Tamil Community, with the direction of Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu and the blessings of General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando RWP RSP ndu, Officers and Other Ranks of 52 Infantry Division took steps to organise an event for distributing ‘Dry Ration Packs’ (each worth of approximately Rs 5000/=) for seventy five (75) needy families in line with 73rd Army Day Celebration on 10th October 2022.

Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna Celebrate 73rd Anniversary with Pride

The formal inaugurations of the series of ceremonies on account of the 73rd anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, the most admired, dedicated and fondly recognized as the “Protectors of the Nation” was held on Monday (10) at the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) premises.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the Army Flag and the motherland was honoured reciting the Army Song. The offering of two-minute silence as a tribute to the memory of all Fallen War Heroes, who made the supreme sacrifice while defending the country’s territorial integrity was also among one of the main features in the sequence of anniversary ceremonies.

Major General SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc Assumed Duties as The General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Jaffna

Major General SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) assumed Office as the 32nd General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Headquarters 51 Infantry Division in Kopay, Jaffna on 07 October 2022 during a Solemn ceremony by adhering to military customs and traditions.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers on his arrival and honoured in a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour presented by 10th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery troops.

High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka Visits Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna)

High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka His Excellency Michael Appleton paid a courtesy visit to the Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) on Monday 03 October 2022. His Excellency the Ambassador and the visiting delegation were warmly welcomed by Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) at the Headquarters premises of Security Forces (Jaffna).

Army Vested a New House for a Needy Family in Chankani, Jaffna

The 513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again by extending their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to another underprivileged family in Chankani, Jaffna. Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) graced the house warming ceremony and handed over the keys of the new house to Mrs. Sulakshana Wijayakantha, a widowed mother with her two children on 03 October 2022.

World Children’s Day Celebration at 51 Infantry Division

As per the guidance and supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division Major General Anil Udaya Kumara, World Children’s Day celebrations were organized by the Staff Officers and Other Ranks of 51 Infantry Division on 01st October 2022.

Series of exhilarating events were organized such as dancing events, kids games and song performances to mark the World Children’s Day. Children of Kanan Girls Children’s Home at Kopay South were participated for the day’s events and brought glamour to the day’ s celebration.

The Event Organized in Line With World Chidren’s Day and The Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army

An event dedicated for the children living in the areas of Kaddaikadu and Kevil was organized by the 55 Infantry Division in connection with International Children’s Day got underway at the Headquarters of 55 Infantry Division premises on Saturday the 01 October 2022 based on the theme of ‘A better future for every child’.

Series of fun filled exhilarating activities, games and variety entertainments that were staged by nearly 125 school students from the Kaddaikadu and Kevil areas dominated the event. The General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG and Reverent Father Amal Raj of Kaddaikadu Church were attended the event as chief guests. Moreover, the Grama Niladhari, school teachers of the area and parents were also participated for the event.

Troops of 15th Battalion Gajaba Regiment Organized A Programme to Celebrate The World Children’s Day

To maintain goodwill among Army and Tamil Community, with the blessings of General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division Major General Anuradha Fernando RWP RSP ndu and the Commander 522 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Chandima Kumarasinghe, Officers of 522 Infantry Brigade and 15th Battalion Gajaba Regiment took steps to organise an event for distribution of school accessories to necessitous students in line with World Children’s Day worth of Rs 2500/= among hundred and eight (108) students in J/Karambakurichchi School and Varani Central College on 01 October 2022.
