The Event Organized in Line With World Chidren’s Day and The Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army

An event dedicated for the children living in the areas of Kaddaikadu and Kevil was organized by the 55 Infantry Division in connection with International Children’s Day got underway at the Headquarters of 55 Infantry Division premises on Saturday the 01 October 2022 based on the theme of ‘A better future for every child’.

Series of fun filled exhilarating activities, games and variety entertainments that were staged by nearly 125 school students from the Kaddaikadu and Kevil areas dominated the event. The General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG and Reverent Father Amal Raj of Kaddaikadu Church were attended the event as chief guests. Moreover, the Grama Niladhari, school teachers of the area and parents were also participated for the event.

\These nature of events were not a common sight for the children in this area, thus organizing events with the blessings of Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG is considered as a community programme to uplift the civil military bond, which pave the way for long term harmony.

The day’s proceedings were concluded by presenting of gifts for all participants, refreshments and a lunch to all participated children, to their parents and caretakers at the 55 Infantry Division Premises.
