Kalaimathi Sports Club emerged winners of the Major General Ravi Ratnasingham Challenge Trophy -2022; the Inter-Club Soccer Tournament in Karaveddi and Point Pedro DS divisions, organized by the 551 Infantry Brigade, celebrating the 73rd Anniversary of the Army, under the supervision of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division in accordance with the conceptual guidance of Major Genenral Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna).

The traditional Katina Pooja in the historical Tissa Raja Maha Vihara in Kankesanthurai, was held by a series of religious observances under the patronage of the Chief Incumbent of the temple, Venerable Ginthota Nandarama Thero.
The climax of the whole religious festival took place on 16th and 17th October 2022 with the participation of Maha Sangha, in the presence of Major General Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), military personnel and gathering of devotees.

An Inter Club Soccer Tournament in Karaveddi and Point Pedro DS divisions was kicked off on 15 October 2022 at Collins' Sports Grounds, Nelliady in celebrating 73rd anniversary of the Army under the instructions of Maj Gen Chandana Wijayasundara, Commander, Security Forces, Jaffna. This is one of the key initiatives to promote game of soccer in Vadamarachchi and to build trust and confidence among civilians in accordance with the conceptual guidance of Security Force Commander.
The soccer tournament where 8 top teams of Vadamarachchi Football League competing each other for prestigious Ravi Ratnasingham Challenge trophy and Rs 100,000 is organised by 551 Infantry Brigade under the supervision of Maj Gen Prasanna Gunaratne, GOC 55 Infantry Division.
