224 Brigade of 22 Division located in Muthur under Security Forces (East) Organized an Alms giving programme For students who observed "Sill" For Vesak in Muthur Sinhala Central College on 21th May 2013.

With an aim to Improve the Nutrition Standard of Students ,22nd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment deployed under 222 Brigade of 22 Div in Security Forces (East), organized a distribution of 245 Biscuit packets for students of Somapura Sinhala School , Somadevi Sinhala School, Mahawalipura Sinhala School and Gamini Sinhala School on 21st May 2013

Security Forces Headquarters East Conducted a Full Day Sill Programme on 24th May 2013 at Dimbulagala Rajamaha Viharaya under the guidance of Commander SFHQ (E) Maj Gen SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG to Celebrate Vesak Festival 2013 where more than 150 Service personnel and civilians were participated.

Forward Maintenance Area in Security Force (E) Organize a Vesak Zone in Mineriya Comprises with Dansala, Vesak Bakthi Geetha and Vesak Lantern Exhibition & Competition which was got the attraction of general public. Commander Security Forces East Maj General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG declared open the Vesak Zone on 24th May 2013.

A New Road from Somavathiya to Seruwila was declared Opened by Hon Basil Rajapaksha, Ministry Of Economic Development on 25 May 2013. This New Road will save length 100 Km For Pilgrims who Travel From Somavathiya to Seruwila. After the Opening, Minister Unveil a Buddha Statue at the Somavathiya Temple. Governor Eastern Province Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickrama, Commander Security Force (east) Maj General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG along with Several Civil & Military dignitaries were Present for the occasion.

Vesak Zone organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (East) was inaugurated by Commander Security Forces (East) Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG along with senior officials of the Security Forces Headquarters (East), on 25 May 2013. The Vesak Zone comprises a Vesak lantern competition, Dansala and many other features, which have received the pride of place among the Vesak Zones in Eastern province. The Dansala is organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (East) colonel coordinating Office was a Public Attractions Event.

As per the Concept and Guidelines of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General SAAL Perera RWP RSP USP ndu IG, 221 Bde ,222 Bde, 224 Bde, 6 SLAC , 15 SLLI , 22 VIR, 5 SLA & 2 GR Under 22 DIV Organized Dansal Programmes in Allakanthale, Kattaparichchan, Thopoor & Kallar from 24 May 2013 to 26 May 2013 with Assistance of Local Donors. More than 12500 Peoples were participated for this series of events.
