LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR A NEW BUILDING AT RAMAKRISHNA VIDYALAYA

8th Gemunu Watch located in Batticaloa under the 231 Brigade of 23 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), organized a laying of the foundation stone for a new building at Ramakrishna Vidyalaya on 27.01.2015 with the participation of Mr. Gnanapirigasam- the Principal of Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Mr. N.Dayaseelan- Divisional Education Officer, Mr. Sirinesan-Deputy Director Education, CO of 8 GW, other officers and OR’s. GOC of 23 Division, Mr. Rukmal Bandaranayake -Senior Human Resources Manager of AIA Insurance Lanka PLC and Mr. K.

DISTRIBUTION OF CASHEW PLANTS

8th Sri Lanka National Guard placed under the 232 Brigade of 23 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East) distributed 1200 x Cashew plants with the sponsorship of Dilmah (Pvt) Limited, among the villagers of Eralakkulam on 27th Jan 2015. Commander 232 Brigade participated. ( Troops participated 05 x 15)

CONDUCTING A "KOVIL POOJA"

232 Brigade located at Thoppigala of 23 Division in the Security Forces (East), conducted a "Kovil Pooja" at Taravikulam Kovil on 28th January 2015 with the participation of Commander 232 Brigade and civilians in the area. (Troops participated 05 x 28)

PROVIDING PROSTHETIC AND ORTHOPAEDIC SERVICES FOR RETIRED, MEDICAL BOARD OUT ARMY PERSONNEL

A programme for providing of prosthetic and orthopaedic services was held for retired and medically board out Army personnel who are using artificial limbs on 29th and 30thJanuary 2015 at 7 SLA Minneriya. This was organized by the FMA (East) under the direction of SFHQ (East). Participants were given an opportunity to rectify the defects of their artificial limbs during a two day technical support programme.
