On 7th July 2023, Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc assumed the duties as the 26th General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division at Divisional Headquarters in Punani. Following military customs, Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc conducted a review of the Guard Turn Out and Parade upon arrival, receiving a warm welcome from the 23 Infantry Division staff.

With the intention of contribution to create brighter future for students within the scope of Sri Lanka Army, a lecture on imprisonment named as "Noya Yuthu Thena" was organized and conducted for 600 students of Kanthale Central Collage , Agrabaodhi National School and Ganthalawa Maha Vidyalaya on 5 July 2023 from 0830 hours to 1145 hours by Senior Superintendent of Prison Mr. Jagath Chandana Weerasinghe, and Assistant Superintendent of Prison (Rehabilitation) Mr. Jayantha Saman Adasuriya, at Kantale Town Hall in order to prevent young generation from illegal activities. During the lecture guest lecture deliberately explained the crucial and harsh life undergo by the inmates during their imprisonment.

A 20 years old youngster who is a resident of Kallady, Batticaloa, Mr. Thawendiran Madushigan swam from Dhanushkody in India to Taleimannar in Sri Lanka on 28 May 2023, and he put a record as the 4th person to reach this position. It took 12 hours and 58 minutes to swim that distance to him. Hence the felicitation ceremony was organized in the 231 Infantry Brigade to felicitate him.
