STUDENTS AT SINHAPURA AND SUSIRIGAMA SCHOOLS RECEIVE SCHOOL AIDS THRU 23 INFANTRY DIVISION

Troops of 23 Infantry Division under the Eastern Headquarters conducted a mega-scale community project to distribute school accessories among 323 school students of Sinhapura Kanishta Vidyalaya and Susirigama Primary School on Tuesday (12 Dec) at the Sinhapura Kanishta Vidyalaya and Susirigama Primary School premises.

Major General KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest.

During the events, 190 students in Sinhapura Kanishta Vidyalaya and 133 students in Susirigama Primary School received school aid packs, under the patronage of a group of well-wishers in Colombo area at the request of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division. In addition, 2 school equipment packs donated to the both schools by the hands of Major General KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc. Cultural dances performed by both schools added glamour to the event. After the event, the Division Commander had a few minutes of leisure time with the students of the schools.

The events were organized by 9th Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery under the supervision and guidance of Colonel AKCS de Silva RSP, the Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division and concept of the Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG.

The Commander, 233 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and Government Officials also took part in the day’s event.
