The celebrations were held on July 23, 2023, under the guidance and leadership of General Officer Commanding Brigadier K V N P Premarathne RSP USP psc.

International half marathon 2023 was organized by Arugambay Development Forum (ADF) with the collaboration of 242 Infantry Brigade on 23 July 2023 at Arugambay, highlighting the slogan of ‘Visit Sri Lanka’ as means to promote tourism industry of Sri Lanka. The event has categorized as 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km and awards given as adult male/female and junior male/female.

As per the directions given by Directorate of Personal Administration AHQ and with the guidance of General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division Major General G M N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, a Dhamma Preaching session was organized by 22 Infantry Division on 17 July 2023 at Hindu Cultural Hall Trincomalee. Famous Buddhist Dhamma preacher “Ven. Balangoda Rada” thero conducted the preaching session for nearly two hours. There were over 700 personals from security forces belong to army, navy, air force and police participated to the event. Commander, Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara USP psc, Deputy Commander, Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Mahesh De Silva USP, 222 Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier N S S Dias RSP, 221 Infantry Brigade Commander, Colonel A K Peiris RSP and other Senior Officers participate to the Dhamma preaching session.

Coordinated efforts of 7 Officers and 140 Army troops of the 7 and 5 (V) Sri Lanka Artillery, 5th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps, and 3rd Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps brought down a fast spreading forest fire in Thalapathkanda, Hatharaskotuva area on Wednesday (19 July). The fire was expanding from 121 mile post to 125th mile post around 7 square kilometers.

Troops of 233 Infantry Brigade of the 23 Infantry Division under Security Forces Headquarters - East, Organized a medical campaign and distribution of 150 Book Packs worth of Rs.200,000.00 to students of Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya on 09 July 2023 with help of family medical department, faculty of medicine of the University of Kelaniya. Medical clinics including eye, hearing and speech, BMI testing, blood pressure testing, random blood sugar testing, awareness programme and medical exhibition were included to the medical campaign. Distributed the worth of Rs.250,000.00 medicines and spectacles during the medical campaign. Colonel AKCS De Silva RSP - Commander, the 233 Infantry Brigade closely supervised the event with the coordination of Professor Janaka Ramanayake, Dr.Dinusha Perera and 31 medical professionals. 150 students and about 300 civil persons were benefited from this programme.
