  • NEW BGS SFHQ (EAST) ASSUMED DUTIES AT AUSPICIOUS TIME

    Brigadier G W L Mahinkanda assumed duties as BGS of SFHQ (East) at auspicious time after observing religious rituals on 12 January 2019.

  • 22 DIVISION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED BASIC ENGLISH AND TAMIL LANGUAGE COURSES

    22 Division successfully completed Basic English and Tamil language courses scheduled for year 2018, for Other Ranks of under command battalions to enhance their language skills to achieve modern language demands enabling them to provide an efficient service without any language barrier. The English language course consisted with 45 working days while Tamil language course was conducted for a period of 30 working days including theoretical and practical aspects.

  • 233 BRIGADE FACILITATES TO CONSTRUCT A TODDLERS' PARK

    Headquarters of 233 Brigade has contributed to construct a Toddlers’ park in Mankerni under the guidance of Commander 233 Brigade Colonel Anil Samarasiri and it was carried out in line with the series of community-oriented programmes organized by the Security Force (East).

  • A DONATION OF SCHOOL ITEMS FOR THILAKAWATHIYAR GIRLS' HOME KATHIRAWELI

    A donation programme of school items sponsored by Mr. T N Wijethunga of Maharagama was held at “Thilakawathiyar” Girls' Home Kadiraweli, on 02 January 2019 under the coordination of 233 Brigade Vakarai. This was an initiative aimed at supporting education of children and it was conducted in line with the series of community-oriented welfare programmes organized by the Security Force (East).

  • TROOPS OF 22 DIVISION ASSIST A KOVIL POOJA

    The troops of 22 Division extended their assistance to conduct the Annual Kovil Pooja at \Sri Hanuman Kovil¶ Orr´s Hill-Trincomalee on Sunday (06). Prior to the event, the troops conducted a Sharmadana Campaign to clear the surrounding of the premises together with devotees in the area.

  • DONATION FOR 150 STUDENTS

    In order to uplift the education of underprivileged students in Vakarei area, the Headquarters of 233 Brigade initiated a donation programme of school materials on 07 January 2019 at Kadiraweli Vigneswara School. The programme was organized with the assistance of the Chairperson -‘Peace and Loving’’ foundation, Mr. Laxman Mahanama. 150 school bags including all needy accessories worth of Rs. 3000 each were distributed among the students.

  • 224 BRIGADE CONDUCTS CHRISTMAS CAROLS

    The troops of the 224 Brigade together with members of Catholic community conducted a Christmas Carols Service with a special Mass on 24 Monday at Marie´s Church Saliyapura, Trincomalee. More than 50 school children attended the programme and recited Christmas carols in Sinhala and Tamil languages as a symbol of goodwill and harmony.

  • 224 BRIGADE TROOPS CONDUCT A SPECIAL DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

    Troops of 224 Brigade conducted a special Dengue Prevention Campaign in Muthur Thaquwanagar, Iqbalnagar and Aalimnagar areas on 17 to 20 Dec in liaison with the MOH and Medical Officers of the respective areas.

  • INCENTIVES & ESSENTIALS DISTRIBUTED AMONG SOORIYAWEWA & MAHAWELITHENNA PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS & LOW INCOME FAMILIES

    Second Volunteer Signal Regiment (2(v)SLSC) with the sponsorship provided by philanthropists donated a large stock of stationeries and shoes for school children, healthy food and nutrients for male patients of chronic kidney disease, nutrients and essential baby care products for pregnant mothers on Saturday, 15 December 2018. The event took place at Welikanda Sooriyawewa Primary School with the guidance of Commander Security Force (East), Major General Aruna Jayasekera, on the request made by Retired Captain Jayantha Udulagama and the Commanding Officer 2 Volunteer Signal Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Bhathiya Jayaweera.

  • THE TROOPS OF 222 BRIGADE DONATED SCHOOL ITEMS

    Troops of the 222 Brigade conducted a donation programme for under privileged students in Mahindapura area at Serunuwara Thapassaralena Temple on Monday (17) with the sponsorship provided by several civil sector donors. 110 students received school accessories, uniforms, water bottles, shoes and books as incentives for studies. This worthy project was initiated under the instructions of the Commander 222 Brigade, Brigadier Deepal Pussella.
