  • 22 DIVISION ORGANIZES A DENGUE PREVENTION CONFERENCE

    22 Division conducted a special conference on Dengue Prevention liaising with the District Secretariat Trincomalee on 02 July 2018. The conference which was organized in response to a request made by General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara, was presided by the District Secretary Trincomalee Mr. NAA Pushpakumara.

  • THE NEW MAIN GATE OF 24 DIVISION WAS OPENED

    With the supervision of General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Major General Mahinda Mudalige, troops of 3 ESR (Engineer Service Regiment) have constructed a Main Gate Entrance to the headquarters 24 Division. It was ceremonially opened and the main plaque was unveiled by the General Officer Commanding 24 Division on early hours of Thursday 28 June 2018.

  • 22 DIVISION CONTRIBUTES TO POSON PERAHERA IN TRINCOMALEE

    The annual Poson Perahera of Jayasumanarama Maha Viharaya in Trincomalee was held on 28 and 29 June on a grand scale with a number of religious activities under the patronage of the Chief Incumbent Ven Trincomalee Gnanakirthi Thero. With the guidance of the General Officer Commanding -22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara, troops extended their fullest support to organize this event.

  • TROOPS OF 24 DIVISION LIGHTS THE POSON ZONE AMPARA

    On a directive by General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Major General Mahinda Mudalige, the Headquarters of 24 Division together with its under command formations joined hands with the District Secretariat and Urban Council Ampara to illuminate the Ampara town with Poson Lanterns to coincide with the Poson Full Moon Poya day on 27 June. These lanterns will be exhibited for four days until the 30 June and troops of 11 SLNG organised a Belimal Dansala during the same period in the Poson Zone.

  • 22 DIVISION OFFERS 'DANSALA' AT GIRIHADU SEYA

    The troops of 22 Division, in collaboration with 'Deepa Wiyaptha Pansil Surakime Padanama' - Embilipitiya organized a Posoan programme on 27 and 28 June at the historic Girihaduseya Temple.

  • DENGUE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

    24 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a Dengue Prevention Campaign in Muthur with the assistance of Medical Officers of the area and the Muthur Pradeshiya Sabha on 23 June 2018.

  • CONFERENCE ON DENGUE PREVENTION

    224 Brigade conducted a Special Coordinating Conference on dengue prevention on 18 June 2018 at the Headquarters of 24 SLNG Battalion. The aim of this Coordinating Conference is to take preventive measures and educate the public on the rapidly spreading Dengue menace. General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, took the initiative in this regard.

  • IFTHAR CEREMONY IN ERAVUR

    A traditional "Ifthar" ceremony, organized by 11 Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery under command to 23 Division took place at the Alighar National School, Eravur on Wednesday (06) evening with the participation of the General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Brigadier Chula Abenayaka, as the Chief Guest. This was conducted in line with the series of community-oriented programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Army aimed at building a peaceful multi-ethnic, multi-religious society for future generations by creating common understanding among different faiths in the country.

  • IFTHAR CEREMONY IN TRINCOMALEE

    A traditional "Ifthar" ceremony organized by 22 Division took place at the cafeteria premises of Headquarters 22 Division on Tuesday (05) evening with the participation of Islamic leaders of Trincomalee (more than 110 members) of Ulama congregations of Islamic faith together with Moulavis of Trincomalee town“ Kuchchiweli, Kinniya, Muthur, Thopur, Thambalagamuwa and Kanthale areas’ After conducting the Islamic prayers, the formal fast breaking took place by swallowing a glass of water by the devotees.
