  • CHURCH AREA RECEIVES CLEAN-UP

    At the request of the Priest in charge of St. Anthony's Church, Punani (Mylanthannai), Father A. Thevathasan, the troops of 23 Division and SF HQ (East) assisted to clean up the church premises during 23 and 24 March 2018. The programme was conducted with the guidance of Commander SF East Major General Santhusitha Pananwala.

  • OFFICERS OF 23 SLSR HAD A UNIT PRESENTATION

    On a directive of Commander of the Army, officers of 23 SLSR conducted the unit presentation at their Headquarters in order to enhance the individual and team professionalism of the Army personnel. The presentation and demonstration were done under the theme of “The Role of Armed Forces in Counter Violence Extremism”.

  • THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED TODDLERS’ PARK IN ORR’S HILL OPENED

    The new Toddlers’ Park at ORR’S Hill Trincomalee, built by the troops of 22 Division was declared open by General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara at the auspicious time on 15 March 2018. In line with the series of community-oriented welfare programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Army, this park was constructed under the directions of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara.

  • RECONCILIATION FOOTBALL MATCH IN MUTHUR

    A football match was held between the teams of 22 Division and Muthur League on 15 March 2018 at Muthur Central College Grounds with the view to promote good relations and understanding between the ethnic groups and to motivate the youth in the area.

  • HIV AWARENESS PROGRAMME EDUCATES 22 DIVISION TROOPS

    An awareness programme on HIV & AIDS was conducted at the Gymnasim in the 22 Division Headquarters at Trincomalee on Wednesday (14). The awareness programme covered sub topics such as Introduction to HIV/AIDS how it transmits from infected patient to a healthy person, Symptoms ” Statistics of AIDS infected people” Social impact and mental state of victims etc.

  • INTER SCHOOL WESTERN BAND COMPETITION - TRINCOMALEE

    The troops of 22 Division with old boy’s association of St Joseph’s College jointly organized a Inter School Western Band Competition at St Joseph College ground in Trincomalee on Saturday (10).The Intention of the Competition is the awareness among students of the importance of CO - Curricular activities to give an opportunity to expose their talents and to motivate them and give them more knowledge about western Music education.

  • 3(V) SLAWC ORGANIZES 'SUWANARI MEDICAL CLINIC' FOR WOMEN

    ‘Suwanari Medical Clinic’, organized jointly by the troops of 3(V) SLAWC, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Sri Lanka Women's Bureau to coincide with the International Women's Day, provided medical consultations to more than 50 Woman soldiers and civil servants on 27 February. The attendees were examined, diagnosed and given free medical treatments during the medical clinic.

  • 233 BRIGADE DISTRIBUTES CASHEW PLANTS AMONG SCHOOL CHILDREN

    Under the programme of “GREEN LANKA, a donation of cashew plants was organized by 233 Brigade at BT/KK/Mankerny R.C.T.M.S on 08 Mar 2018 with the view to protect the Mother Nature. On this occasion, 2000 cashew plants were distributed among school children and school staff.
