01 Officer and 50 troops of 7 SLA under 231 infantry Brigade, in compliance with direction given from Security Forces Headquarters-East and the 23 Infantry Division, a 'Shramadana' was organize by MOH, was conducted at Kaduruwela town area with the participation of Government stakeholders such as District Director of Health Services, PHIs, Police officers, School children and many other voluntary activities on 24 Oct 2023.
The objectives of the program were to strengthen dengue control efforts in the Polonnaruwa MOH area through the development of an ideal intersectoral cooperation with military and civil authorities and building collaborations to carry out dengue control activities and enhance public knowledge of dengue prevention and treatment. Troops of the 7 SLA active involvement of all stakeholders, a public awareness campaign covering the entire MOH area was carried out. A ‘shramadana’ campaign that targeted the public spaces. Government buildings and public schools was launched afterwards. Widespread public endangerment was attracted for this event.
