NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER, 2ND BATTALION THE GAJABA REGIMENT ASSUMES OFFICE

Major HGKS Darmadasa assumed office as the 17th Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment at an auspicious time, on 21 October 2023 amidst religious blessings at the Headquarters 2nd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in ancient Fort Frederic Trincomalee.

The Commanding officer was warmly welcomed by the over-looking Second in Command, Major DUDE Kodituwakku on his arrival to the camp. Then the array of day’s programme was commenced by a formal ceremony with a Guard Turnout, saluted new Commanding Officer on his arrival and he took over the duties by signing an official document amid religious observances.

Further, in his troops address he informed about the future activities of the battalion and how the troops should work in cooperation. Later he attended the all ranks tea party, where he had a cordial interaction with gathering of troops.
