  • THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (CENTRAL) VISITS 3 SLSR

    Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP, Commander Security Forces (Central) made his first official visit to the 3 Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment which is under command to Security Force Headquarters (Central) on 29 June 2020 after the assumption of duties as the Commander, Security Forces (Central). The General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General W M J R K Senarathne RWP RSP, Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade, Brigadier E A P Ediriweera RWP and few more Officers also participated in this visit.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL PARTICIPATED IN AN IMPORTANT LECTURE

    Troops at Security Forces (Central) were lectured on Penetrative Mind and Realization. This timely lecture was conducted under the instructions of the Commander of the Army and the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP. Further, this lecture was conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Samanthi Bandara and Major T P G K P De Alwis RWP psc representing the Directorate of Psychological Operations.

  • OFFICERS OF SF (CEN) PARTICIPATED IN A TIMELY LECTURE.

    In accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army an important lecture was conducted for the Officers of the Security Forces (Central). Intending to improve the knowledge of officers on Officering and Best Practices at Officers’ Mess, this lecture was conducted by the Head of the Training Team of Military Training Wing of Sri Lanka Military Academy, Lieutenant Colonel Ishara Weliwita RWP RSP USP psc on 24 June 2020. Further, this lecture was conducted with the supervision and the participation of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS CULTIVATED POTATO

    Troops of the Security Forces (Central), launched a cultivation project in accordance with a concept of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP. Consequently, potato seeds were cultivated in Kaluambathenna area in Diyatalawa on 17 June 2020. The commander Security Forces (Central) also attended the inaugural occasion along with six Officers and thirty Other Ranks.

  • COMMANDER SF (CEN) VISITS SPECIAL RESIDENTIAL QUARANTINE CENTER AT UMA OYA OFFICE PREMISES

    Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP visited the newly arranged special Residential Quarantine Center, maintained under the supervision of the Army at Uma Oya Office premises on 15 June 2020. This was arranged for 85 Iranians, belonging to the ongoing Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project. Further, the Commander inspected whether this center is arranged adhering the all health instructions imposed by the government.

  • THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (CENTRAL) VISITS UNDER COMMAND UNITS

    Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP, Commander Security Forces (Central) made his first official visit to 23 Gajaba Regiment and 3 Sri Lanka National Guards which are under command to Security Force Headquarters (Central) on 04 June 2020 after the assumption of duties as the Commander, Security Forces (Central). Moreover, Commander worshipped Kiriwehera, Kataragama Devalaya and Wedasiti Kanda during the visit. General Officer Commanding of 12 Division, Major General A L P S Thilakarathne RWP RSP USP psc, the Brigade Commander of 122 Brigade, Brigadier A H L G Amarapala RWP RSP psc as well as Senior Officers also participated in this visit.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS ASSIST FARMING

    Being an agricultural based island Sri Lankans give the prominence to the farming industry. As far as the military is concerned in the island they also contribute to the national agricultural requirements within the capacity. Consequently, the troops of Security Forces (Central) commenced farming in Fox Hill area on 25 May 2020 under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP.

  • FUNERAL OF THE LATE MINISTER ARUMUGAM THONDAMAN

    The funeral of late minister and Ceylon Workers Congress leader Arumugam Thondaman was held at the Sports ground in Norwood, Hatton on 31 May 2020 with State honours. Further, a large crowd gathered to the place to bid farewell to Minister Arumugam Thondaman, amidst the curfew. Therefore, protective measures had been implemented to control the spreading of Covid -19 and security measures were also taken to control the public. The Prime Minister, Political leaders, Religious leaders as well as the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP also participated in this occasion

  • COMMANDER SF (CEN) VISITED THE CONSTRUCTION AREA OF NEW ARMY HOSPITAL IN PALLEKELE

    The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costa RSP USP inspected the constructions of building complex of new Army Hospital in Pallekele on 19 May 2020. The Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade, Brigadier E A P Ediriweera RWP also joined this official visit along with other Senior Officers. Further, the proposed plan of the hospital and other additional requirements relevant to the constructions were also examined by the Commander.

  • SF COMMANDER VISITS THE AFFECTED LOCATIONS IN THE AOR

    Many areas of the island have affected due to the prevailing adverse weather condition and the same situation has badly knocked the civil life of the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Hence, with the mediation of military personnel, the relief operations are carried out in the affected areas. The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General W D C K Costs RSP USP along with the Brigade Commander of 112 Brigade, Brigadier E A P Ediriweera RWP and few officers visited Nuwara Eliya area in order to witness the affected locations as well as the victims of this bad weather condition.
