The Thripitaka was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage, the ceremony was held under the patronage of President Maitreepala Sirisena at the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic on 23 March 2019.This historical event was held with the participation of three chief incumbents of three chapters and MahaSanga under state patronage. Ministers and Tri forces Commanders also the participated the ceremony. Along with this historical event under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG and the supervision of Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 11 Division, 10 senior officers, officers and 150 other ranks were participated for the Gilanpasa pooja to 4000 MahaSanga for the blessing of all military personals.

The Inter Regiment Basketball Tournament that got underway at Panagoda Indoor Stadium on Friday (15) in the presence of a large gathering, headed by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake as the Chief Guest gave the win to Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (Men) and players in the Sri Lanka Army General Services Corps (Women).

The Commander Security Forces (Central) Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG made two-day visit on 21 and 22 February 2019 to inspect the current situation and present developments of the units under command to Security Forces Central. He visited, 7 Signal, 8 SLASC on 21 February and 7 SLCMP and 2 SLE(V) on 22 February 2019 . During the visit he observed the development of the camps as well as the construction of the proposed buildings in the camp premises. During this visit, Commander Participated tea parties with all ranks and participated for Tree planting events to make his visit remarkable.

The foundation stone for the "Piyawara" Pre school, Bandarawela, was laid by Mr Steven Enderby - Chief Executive Officer of Hemas Group of Companies, Mrs Shiromi Masakorala - Executive Directress Hemas Outreach Foundation, Maj Gen Ruwan de Silva - Commander Security Forces Central, Mr Janaka Rathnayake - Hon Mayer Bandarawela, and other officials representing Hemas group of Companies,Security Forces Central and Urban Council Bandawela on 19 January 2019. Amidst the sermons recited by the Buddhist monks, the foundation stone was placed.

Ministers and Tri forces Commanders also the participated for the ceremony. Along with this historical event an alms giving was conducted for 1500 Maha Sanga at Matale Aluwihara Vidyalaya on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG and the supervision of Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 11 Division.Further, 10 senior officers, officers and 600 other ranks were participated for the alms giving and get blessings to all military personals.

Security Forces Headquarters (Central) commenced the first working day of the new year, on 01 January 2019 with the participation of Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG Commander Security Forces (Central). After hoisting the national flag, national anthem and the Army song were sung at the headquarters premises and it was followed by two minutes' observance of silence in remembering of fallen war heroes. The State Service Commitment Pledge was read by Lt Col SP Malwarage RSP USP IG Staff Officer 1(Log). Following that, Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG Commander Security Forces (Central) addressed the troops.
