The Thripitaka was declared as a national heritage at a national ceremony was held under the patronage of president Maitreepala Sirisena at the historic Aluwiharaya Temple Matale on 05 January 2019.This historical event was held with the participation of three chief incumbents of three chapters and 1500 Maha Sanga under state patronage. Ministers and Tri forces Commanders also the participated for the ceremony. Along with this historical event an alms giving was conducted for 1500 Maha Sanga at Matale Aluwihara Vidyalaya on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG and the supervision of Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 11 Division.Further, 10 senior officers, officers and 600 other ranks were participated for the alms giving and get blessings to all military personals.

Security Forces Headquarters (Central) commenced the first working day of the new year, on 01 January 2019 with the participation of Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG Commander Security Forces (Central). After hoisting the national flag, national anthem and the Army song were sung at the headquarters premises and it was followed by two minutes' observance of silence in remembering of fallen war heroes. The State Service Commitment Pledge was read by Lt Col SP Malwarage RSP USP IG Staff Officer 1(Log). Following that, Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG Commander Security Forces (Central) addressed the troops.

The annual concert of the Wiru Kakulu Pre School Diyatalawa, which is functions under Sri Lanka Army Sewa Wanitha Branch, was held in a grand level at the Touch Cinema Hall, Diyatalawa on 13 November 2018. The occasion was graced by the president of the Sri Lanka Army Sewa Wanitha Branch Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, senior member of the Diyatalawa and Kandy Pre Schools Mrs Ludmila De Silva and number of other representatives of Sewa Wanitha Branch was also participated. The Commander of the Security Forces Central, Maj Gen W R P De Silva USP ndu IG also witnessed the event which was filled with full of colorful entertaining songs and dramas presented by the students in a colorful setting. In addition, officers of SF Cen and parents of students were participated at this occasion.

New Commander of the Security Forces Central, Maj Gen W R P De Silva USP ndu IG graced with his presence at the first official visit to 11 Division Kandy on 06 November 2018. GOC 11 Division, Maj Gen T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu, welcomed the new SF Comd and troops of 1 SLRC offered guard turnout and guard of honour to new SF Comd. After that, Comd SF Cen addressed 35 x 200 officers and ORs belongs to 11 Division. Comd 111 Bde, Comd 112 Bde and number of senior officers attended at this occasion. SF Comd then visited the Temple of Tooth Relic to get the blessings, where the Comd met chiefs incumbent of Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters and theros wished him blessing of Nobel Triple Gem.

Maj Gen W R P De Silva USP ndc IG assumed duties as the 9th Commander of the Security Forces (Central), at an auspicious time on 25th October 2018 at Security Forces Headquarters (Central). Troops of 18 GW offered the Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour at the Rendezvous ground Diyathlawa The ceremony was consisted with the Tree Planting, Troops Address and All Ranks Tea. GOC 11 Div, GOC 12 Div and senior officers, officers and OR’s under command to Security Forces Central were participated at this ceremonial occasion.

Security Forces Central organized a farewell ceremony to the outgoing Security Forces Comd, Maj Gen G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG on 22 October 2018 at Security Forces Headquarters (Central). Troops of 18 GW offered the Guard turnout and Guard of Honour at Rendezvous Ground, Diyatalawa, followed by Troop address and all ranks tea. For this event, GOC 11 Div, GOC 12 Div, Brigade Commanders, COs, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and Senior Officers from ARTRAC and Training Institutes in the area have participated.

SF (Cen) completed building a new house to Mr Karunadasa at Nugathalawa, Welimada, who was disabled by an accident. Fontera Brand Company Ltd funded this project and with the request of the Fontera Brand Company, the Comd of the Army directed SF (Cen) to fulfil this request. Thus, SF(Cen) undertook all construction works, under the overall supervision of the Comd Security Forces Central, Maj Gen G R H Dias VSV USP ndu psc IG. With all positive wishes, constructions were started on 09 July 2018 and with an untiring effort, SF (Cen) able to complete the house within three mounts.

Concurrently to the 69th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, SF HQ (Cen) organized a "Flag March" from Bandarawela to Diyatalawa under the direct supervision and guidance of Commander SF HQ (Cen) Maj Gen G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG on 10 Oct 18 from 0800 hrs to 1000 hrs.
