In line with the 69th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka army, Security Force Headquarter (Central) conducted a blood donation charity program under the guidance of the Commander Security Force Headquarter (Central) Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG on 04 Oct 18 at Army Base Hospital (Diyatalawa) from 0900 hrs to 1600 hrs.

The Esala Perahera, the glorious event of the Sri Dalanda Maligawa in Kandy was successfully conducted from 16 August 2018 to 26 August 2018. In order to offer the respect to the procession, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC and Mrs Senanayake visited Kandy on 24 August 2018 in which the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu also joined. After worshipping the temple of the tooth the Commander met the Chief lay custodian (Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara) of the Maligawa.

A conference was held at the Grand Mosque in Bogambara, Kandy in order to prevent the communal conflicts which all the communities experienced in the recent past. On the direction of the Commander of the Army this conference took place on 02 July 2018 with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG‚ Major General Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc former GOC 11 Div‚ Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu GOC 11 Div and sevaral senior officers. Representing Muslim community, religious leaders, businessmen and other intellectuals participated in the conference to discuss the reasons for conflicts, precautions which can be taken to improve the unity and the reconciliation among the communities.

The Pakistan Chairman Joint Chiefs of Army Staff Committee, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, NI and delegation Visited Kandy which is in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 29 June 2018. They were warmly received to the SF (Central) AOR by the commander Security Forces (Central), G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG, the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara WWP USP ndu and senior officers.

A Kadala Dansala was organized on 26 June 2018 by the Viru Kekulu Pre School, Diyatalawa which is under command to Security Forces (Central) on the account of Poson Full Moon Poya Day which falls on 27 June 2018. The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG as well as senior officers, officers and other ranks of this Headquarters participated in this Dansala. The students of the pre school served Kadala to all the participants and civilians of the area.
