Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc made the first official visit to Security Forces Headquarters (Central) on 06 December 2019, after assuming the office as the Commander of the Army. Amidst the honorable welcomes to the Headquarters, the visiting commander entered the premises. There the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu received the Commander of the Army and it was followed by a Guard Turn out.
Later, the visiting Commander was presented a Guard of Honour by 23 Gajaba Regiment at the parade ground. Afterward, marking the 1st official visit to Security Forces Headquarters, the Commander of the Army planted a sapling of Red Sandalwood at the premises of Headquarters. Making the visit more memorable, the Commander sat for a photograph with all the Officers of Security Forces (Central).
Later, on the same day the visiting Commander addressed the troops under command to SF (Cen) at the Nelum Pokuna Auditorium of Sri Lanka Academy. There, the Commander stated the value of professionalism as well as the maintaining discipline which is a must for military personnel. Furthermore, the Commander emphasized the salubrious beauty and the geographical value which Central and Uva are inherited with and how ancient people defeated the invaders using natural features in central highlands. Moreover, the most of the ancient sacred places and the sights with economical value are also situated within the responsible area of SF (Central). Therefore, the Commander highlighted that the SF(Central) is vested a great responsibility in order to protect the nature while taking the required security measures for the protection of the nation. After the troops address, the Commander and the Commander SF (Cen) exchanged the mementos.
Then the Commander joined the All Ranks refreshments at the Headquarters premises and shared the thoughts with them. Before leaving, the Commander of the Army left his signature in the Visitors’ Book of SFHQ (Cen).
