A special blood donation campaign was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters (Central), with the participation of the Sri Lanka Army personnel, whose members continuously dedicate themselves as guardians of the nation. In response to a request made by the National Blood Transfusion service of the Teaching Hospital Badulla to maintain adequate blood reserves, this humanitarian initiative was conducted under the guidance and direction of the Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central).

Under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP, a welfare programme was conducted at the Sanasuma Elders’ Home, Amundowa – Bandarawela. The programme included cleaning and maintenance of the elders’ home and its surrounding areas, followed by the provision of refreshments for 32 resident elders. Subsequently, essential items were distributed to the elders. In addition, a melodious musical entertainment programme was organized in the evening to uplift their morale and provide mental and emotional comfort.

The Diṭvā cyclone that occurred on 26 November 2025, disaster relief operations were initiated under emergency conditions on the directives of the Commander, Security Forces (Central), Major General K A W N H Bandaranayake USP. Accordingly, all Army personnel of Divisions, Brigades and Units under the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) were mobilized without delay to carry out relief operations.

The Long Sniper Course No. 23, conducted by the Marksmanship and Sniper Training School, commenced with the participation of 41 local and foreign military officers and other ranks, and successfully concluded on 10 December 2025. Due to the severe impact caused by the adverse weather conditions that prevailed over the past few days, the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, undertook a three-day field visit from 02 to 04 December 2025. to observe disaster-affected civilians and inspect impacted locations within the 11 Infantry Division Area of Responsibility, covering the Kandy, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya Districts.

The commander security forces central Major General Nalin Bandaranayeke, on 13 September 2025, made a curtesy call and interactive session at Security Forces Headquarters Central for the troops, who engaged in rescue mission of horrific Ella Wellawaya bus accident, to appreciate their bravery acts during the tragic accident. The Commander emphasized and appreciated the social responsibility in assisting general public during such disastrous situations and praised them for their commitment during the mission. The Brigadier General Staff, Commander 112 infantry brigade, senior officers, officers and soldiers who contributed for the rescue mission participated for the event.
