SF (Cen) completed building a new house to Mr Karunadasa at Nugathalawa, Welimada, who was disabled by an accident. Fontera Brand Company Ltd funded this project and with the request of the Fontera Brand Company, the Comd of the Army directed SF (Cen) to fulfil this request. Thus, SF(Cen) undertook all construction works, under the overall supervision of the Comd Security Forces Central, Maj Gen G R H Dias VSV USP ndu psc IG. With all positive wishes, constructions were started on 09 July 2018 and with an untiring effort, SF (Cen) able to complete the house within three mounts.

The Esala Perahera, the glorious event of the Sri Dalanda Maligawa in Kandy was successfully conducted from 16 August 2018 to 26 August 2018. In order to offer the respect to the procession, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC and Mrs Senanayake visited Kandy on 24 August 2018 in which the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu also joined. After worshipping the temple of the tooth the Commander met the Chief lay custodian (Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara) of the Maligawa.

A conference was held at the Grand Mosque in Bogambara, Kandy in order to prevent the communal conflicts which all the communities experienced in the recent past. On the direction of the Commander of the Army this conference took place on 02 July 2018 with the participation of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG‚ Major General Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc former GOC 11 Div‚ Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu GOC 11 Div and sevaral senior officers. Representing Muslim community, religious leaders, businessmen and other intellectuals participated in the conference to discuss the reasons for conflicts, precautions which can be taken to improve the unity and the reconciliation among the communities.
