Major General H P N K Jayapathirane RSP, Commander Security Forces (Central) made his first field visit to 8 Military Intelligence Corps (8MIC) on 13 January 2021 after assuming the office as the Commander Security Forces (Central). Further, the Colonel (Coord) of Security Forces (Central), Colonel W M P W N D B Weerakoon RSP USP along with few more staff officers of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) participated in this visit.
The visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by Major N D Kapugama, Commanding Officer of 8 MIC and briefed their role and tasks as affiliated Battalion to SFHQ (Cen). Further, a mango tree sapling was planted at the camp premises by the Commander SF (Central) in order to mark his first official visit to the Unit.
