With the direction of the Army headquarters and the instructions of Major General H P N K Jayapathirana RSP, the Commander Security Forces (Central), a few events were organized at the Security Force Headquarters (Central) premises on 04 February 2021 to commemorate the 73rd National Independence Day.
The brief ceremony was commenced by hoisting the National Flag by commander Security Force (Central) followed singing of National Anthem by the troops. Two minutes of silence was observed in remembrance of War Heroes who made their supreme sacrifice for the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the motherland. All the Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this event.
Subsequently, Jak tree saplings were also planted in marking this national event with the participation of the Commander Security Force (Central). All the troops witnessed the live telecast of addressing the nation by His Excellency the President.
