One hundred and eighty eight (188) new recruits of Recruit Course No. 79 passed out in an impressive ceremonial military parade on 23 March 2021 at the SLAVFTS upon completion of their intense four months basic recruit training.
The Security Force Commander, Major General NR Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. On the arrival at the venue, the commander was warmly welcomed by Col HA Keerthinatha RSP USP psc the Commandant SLAVFTS and accorded with a Guard Turnout.
The SF Commander awarded laurels and certificates to the best recruits in the Recruit Course No. 79 in several disciplines. Private Bandara P G C P was awarded as the Best Recruit by achieving the highest aggregate marks for all theoretical and practical disciplines during the training. Private Nimsara M N received the award of fittest Recruit and Private Sankalpa K D was awarded as the Best Shot.
