  • TROOPS RESCUED STUDENTS WHO LOST THEIR WAY

    The students of NSBM University who came with the purpose of camping had lost their way back from camping site at Wangedigalakanda area in Bambarakanda located in the Divisional Secretariat Haldummulla due to prevailed bad weather condition on 27 February 2018. Haldummulla Police requested military assistance to launch rescue missions.

  • TROOPS OF 1 SRI LANKA RIFFLE CORPS CONDUCTED A SHRAMADANA CAMPAIGN

    Shramadana Campaigns and renovations were conducted at Budumaga Senasuna Viharaya, Pallekele in Kundasale Divisional Secretariat and Sri Gunasekararamaya, in Ukuwela Divisional Secretariat which are located in the responsible area of 11 Division of Security Forces Headquarters (Central). In accordance with the guidance of the Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka Riffle Corps 12 Other Ranks participated in this charity campaign on 16 and 20 February 2018.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL ASSIST FOR A DENGUE ERADICATION PROGRAMME

    A special Dengue Eradication Programme was launched at Jayaminipura area in Diyatalawa on 24 February 2018 by the Haputale Divisional Secretariat with the assistance of the military personnel at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central). In accordance with a request made by the Haputale Divisional Secretariat from the Commander Security Forces (Central), 10 soldiers from this Headquarters supported to civilians of the area to make this programme a success.

  • TROOPS CONTROLLED A SUDDEN FIRE

    Troops of 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment controlled a sudden fire occurred in Weheragoda area in Monaragala District which is in the responsible area of 12 Division of Security Forces (Central) on 23 February 2018. A team consisting of 1 officer and 25 soldiers contributed to douse the fire.

  • AN ENGLISH COURSE WAS COMMENCED BY BRITISH COUNCIL SRI LANKA

    An English Course was designed by the British Council in collaboration with the Directorate of Training and the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General GRH Dias USP ndc psc IG in order to enhance the English knowledge of the Officers at Security Forces Headquarters (Central) and its under command formations.

  • TROOPS CONTROLLED A SUDDEN FIRE

    Troops of 5th Battalion the Gemunu Watch and 9th Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment have controlled a sudden fire occurred in Warunagama area, Wellawaya in Monaragala District which is in the responsible area of 12 Division of Security Forces (Central) on 19 February 2018. A team consisting of 4 officers and 80 soldiers have taken the prompt actions to douse the fire.

  • A CERTIFICATE AWARDING CEREMONY TAKES PLACE AT 11 DIVISION

    The Basic Intelligence Course conducted at 11 Division of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) has successfully came to end and the certificate awarding was taken place on 14 February 2018. For this course 06 officers and 80 other ranks of under command formations in 11 Division participated. The course was conducted from 02 October 2017 to 25 October 2017 at the Headquarters of 1st Sri Lanka Rifle Corps.

  • NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING ASSUMES DUTIES

    Major General N D Wanniarachchi WWP RWP RSP USP ndc IG assumed duties as the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 12 Division which is under command to Security Forces Headquarters (Central) on 09 February 2018.

    Troops of 18 Gemunu Watch have controlled a sudden fire occurred in Suduwathurawa Kumbukkana area in Monaragala District which is in the responsible area of 12 Division of Security Forces (Central) on 06 February 2018. A team consisting of 1 officer and 30 soldiers contributed to douse the fire.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS ASSIST FOR A NATIONAL EVENT

    The annual Pirith chanting and the Alms giving which aimed to gain merit for the good governance of the country and for all the Sri Lankans were conducted at Sri Pada which is considered as the paramount important religious place of the Buddhists worldwide. Further, this was organized in remembering of the war heroes and the injured soldiers of the war. This meritorious event was organized on Duruthu Full Moon Poya Day of 01 January 2018 with the contribution and the participation of a lot of devotees.
