An awareness programme was conducted to make aware the school children and their parents on explosives which have become a frequently talked yet a doubtful topic in the present day scenario. With the purpose of educating the subjected group to identify the explosives in advance, the Commander of the Army initiated to conduct this programme. Accordingly, on 07 June 2019 at Madduma Bandara Vidyalaya in Pilimatalawa this awareness programme was conducted under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu and the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division.

A workshop was conducted for the Station Masters in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) in order to make them aware on the prevailing situation of the country as well as providing of security to the general public as the responsible state workers of the country.

A programme called ‘ Rajyasewaya Gamata’ was launched in Matale district in order to educate the public on the state services which resolve the problems and issues in the regional level on 01 May 2019 at Sri Sangamitta College, Matale. Further, an office was also established at this programme area representing the SL Army by the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry to launch a recruitment programme. Moreover, the officers from 11 Division of Security Forces (Central), Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Directorate of Personnel Administration, Directorate of Pay and Records as well as Directorate of Recruiting participated in this programe representing the SL Army.

Lieutenant Colonel K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP psc took over the duties after the relinquishment of the duties of former Colonel General Staff, Colonel P K S Nandana RSP USP psc.
