The troops of 3(V)Sri Lanka Singha Regiment under command to Security Forces (Central) provided assistance to clean the surrounding of Gregory Lake which became unclean during the annual festive season of Wasantha Senakeliya. According to the request made by the Mayor of Nuwara Eliya, Mr P B Chandana Lal Karunarathne and the instructions of Major General G R H Dias USP ndc psc IG the Commander Security Forces (Central), the Commanding Officer and 50 soldiers of 3(V)SLSR carried out the task on 08 April 2018.

The newly built Other Ranks’ dining area and the kitchen at 12 Division was declared open by the General Officer Commanding of 12 Division, Major General N D Wanniarachchi WWV RWP RSP USP ndc IG on 10 April 2018 at the auspicious time scheduled at 0905 hours. For this occasion, all ranks of the Division Headquarters participated in and it was followed by an all ranks tea.

The “Sinhala New Year Festival 2018” of 11 Division of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) was held with the directions and the participation of Major General A W M A W N Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, at the 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps premises on 06 April 2018. The Officers and Other Ranks of the Division participated in the traditional games and events of the festival.

Kids at Viru Kekulu Pre - school - Pallekele displayed their talents at the annual sports meet on 02 April 2018 at the school premises. This occasion was graced by Mrs Chandrika Senanayake the president of the Army Sewa Vanitha Unit as the Chief Guest with the invitation of Mrs. Indika Ranawana the Lady In Charge of Viru Kekulu Pre - School Pallekele. The General Officer Commanding of 11 Division Major General AWMAWN Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc and other senior officers and officers of 11 Division as well as senior members of the Sewa Vanitha Unit participated in the event.

A shramadana campaign was conducted by 19 Sri Lanka National Guards (19 SLNG) to clean Sri Sumanarama Viharaya in Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat which is located in the responsible area of 112 Brigade of Security Forces (Central). In accordance with the guidance of the Commanding Officer of 19 SLNG, 10 Other Ranks participated in this charity campaign on 25 March 2018 and they were blessed by the Buddhist monks of the temple.

A programme was launched in the Kandy district with the instructions of the Commander of the Army in order to remove the debris of damaged buildings during the unrest situation occurred due to a communal tension in certain areas of the district. In accordance with the instructions of the Commander of the Army, on 30 March 2018 a programme was commenced with the supervision of Major General A W M A W N Ranawana RWP RSP ndc psc, the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division.

This lecture was conducted for 15 Officers and 150 Other Ranks by Major T D T Wijesinghe of 12 SLSC.
