A workshop was conducted for the Station Masters in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) in order to make them aware on the prevailing situation of the country as well as providing of security to the general public as the responsible state workers of the country.

A programme called ‘ Rajyasewaya Gamata’ was launched in Matale district in order to educate the public on the state services which resolve the problems and issues in the regional level on 01 May 2019 at Sri Sangamitta College, Matale. Further, an office was also established at this programme area representing the SL Army by the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry to launch a recruitment programme. Moreover, the officers from 11 Division of Security Forces (Central), Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Directorate of Personnel Administration, Directorate of Pay and Records as well as Directorate of Recruiting participated in this programe representing the SL Army.

The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central).

Lieutenant Colonel K D M L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP psc took over the duties after the relinquishment of the duties of former Colonel General Staff, Colonel P K S Nandana RSP USP psc.

A lecture was conducted on drug prevention and the benefits of a drugs free society by Mr Ajith Nawagamuwa, the Head of the Law Department, The National Centre of drug information on 15 May 2019 at the lecture hall of Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS). Military assistance has been given to rescue two civilians who got injured due to collapsing of soil embankment located near a house in Ranabima area in Gannoruwa on 07 May 2019 around 1630 hours. 02 officers and 20 soldiers from the Training School of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) at Gannoruwa engaged in this rescue mission and they saved the lives of two civilians with the support of the public in the area. The injured were admitted to the Teaching Hospital Peradeniya.
